Podcasts
Brian is the contributor of the Paranormal News Insider report during the Grand Dark Conspiracy podcast on the Shark Radio Network every Monday night at 10 P.M. east.
He was actually the first guest back in May of 2008 and then re-appeared after a number of ghost related guests (Parapsychologist Loyd Auerbach, author John Kachuba, and others) to discuss Cryptozoology. That August he began to have his own show-within-a-show and has been a part of the program ever since. He has been a guest on numerous occasions to this show as well as a co-host. Brian was also a host and guest on a variety of occasions to the ParaNexus Universe show on Blogtalk radio. After 3 1/2 years and 172 episodes ParaNexus Universe came to an end in August of 2011. He has appeared on a number of shows in the past few years (Keeping the Paranormal Friendly Community Show based in Manchester, England, Ohio Crypto Radio, West Georgia Paranormal Radio, and other now defunct shows).
Libaries and other public/private functions
Brian has appeared at the Westerville Public Library (northeast of Columbus, Ohio) for the last four years (and was just booked for a fifth in 2013). In 2009, Brian presented "Investigating the Paranormal", a PowerPoint Presentation geared toward the basics of investigating a client-centered case from beginning to end including interviewing, investigating, evidence review, and more. In 2010, Brian presented "Fact or Fiction: Paranormal Events in the Media".
This presentation explored paranormal photography from the Spiritualism Era into the present. It examined illusions and pareidolia as well as common photographic false positive images and how technology is slowly working against us. It also provided a handful of videos that have been popularized in the media with examination. For 2011, Brian combined aspects of these two previous topics into a 3 hour presentation, "Paranormal Investigations: Beyond 101". In 2012 he presented "Behind the Curtain" a look at the truth behind belief, investigation, technology, and the beginning and background of paranormal investigation.
Brian has also appeared at other libraries and private functions. October 2, 2012, he appeared at the North Royalton Branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library in North Royalton, Ohio, and presented the basics of Cryptozoology. On October 29, 2012, he appeared at the Community Library in Sunbury, Ohio, and presented "Balance of Belief", a look behind belief in various aspects of the paranormal. Also in 2012 he presented for the North Coast Info Quest group (and had done so in 2009) in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as the Austintown Coast to Coast group. He presented "Investigating the Paranormal" at the Grafton-Midview Public Library which drew a very large crowd in 2009. Read about the event as covered by The Chronicle Telegram.
Conferences and Conventions
Brian has appeared at numerous paranormal conferences and conventions of varying sizes over the years. One of the more recent events include the First Forensic Ghost Excavation Congress Convention in Brunswick, Maryland on June 22-24, 2012. The event was hosted by John Sabol who has pioneered the "Ghost Excavation" technique. Brian also attended the Ohio Paranormal Convention in Dayton, Ohio.
Brian appeared at both of the only events presented by Southern Ohio Paranormal Research in 2009 and 2010. In 2009, he presented "Cryptozoology". The audio of the presentation was recorded by the Ghostly Talk Paranormal Radio Show.
In 2010, he teamed up with Ghost Excavator, John Sabol, to present "Breaking the Mold". This presentation explored the popular approach to investigating and exposed some fatal flaws, introduced John's method of "excavating", and provided a case analysis from our joint investigation into Farnam Manor in Richfield, Ohio.
In 2010, Brian also appeared at the Mysteries and Paranormal Convention in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania. The event was presented by the Myseries and Paranormal Society based in Sharon, Pennsylvania.
The event took place in three separate buildings; the vendors and presenters met the public in the local VFW building, some presenters (including Lorraine Warren) appeared in an old opera house, and others appeared in a Church built in 1882 (Chloe Pierce Church) which also serves as the local historical society building. Brian's presentation, "The Power of Belief in Paranormal Investigation", took place in the Church and discussed the history of the Spiritualism Movement, Psychical Research/Parapsychology, pareidolia, how belief affects paranormal phenomena, and many beliefs in the paranormal that are unfounded.
On October 31, 2009, Brian appeared at the Northeast Ohio Paranormal Convention
in Rootstown, Ohio, presented by the Munroe Falls Paranormal Society. He conductd an early and shortened version of "The Power of Belief in Paranormal Investigation" which explored concepts of belief and how it can affect paranormal phenomenon.
The Journal Of Anomalous Sciences
Brian was fortunate to appear in an article in the September-October, 2009
edition of "The Journal Of Anomalous Sciences". The article was born from information he gathered for his group's Handbook, information he felt all his investigators needed to know. The article was titled "The Science of Ghost Hunting and Paranormal Investigation" and focused on a brief history of how science began in the paranormal field, an overview of the scientific method and how ghost investigation fits in, and flaws that hold the paranormal field back. It was a great moment for Brian to realize one of his dreams of appearing in a scientific Journal.
